June 2024

Thursday 6th June 8:30am to 10pmD-Day Beacon Lighting – The Parish Council invites residents to the village field for the lighting of a beacon to commemorate 80 years since D-Day – Beacon lighting at 9:15pm. Nibbles will be provided but please bring your own wine/beer.

Wednesday – 12th June – 10am to 12pm – Tea and Coffee Social gathering – Just for fun – dominoes, cards or board games.

Wednesday –19th June – 7pmLocal History Group – Water Meadows Speaker – to be confirmed.

Saturday 22nd June – 4:30pm – 9:30pmVillage Bring Your Own Picnic on the field – in the past this has proved to be a very popular event. Bring your family and friends.

July 2024

Wednesday 10th July 10am to 12pm – Tea and Coffee Social gathering – Speaker Joan Green on the charity work of the Police Convoy – £5pp

Wednesday 10th July 7pm Local History Group – End of term examination!!! & BBQ

Friday 26th July 6:30pm to 9:30pm- Friday Night Social

August 2024

Wednesday 14th August 10am to 12pm – Tea and Coffee Social gathering – plus coffee and biscuits. £3pp

Wednesday 11th September 10am to 12pm – Tea and Coffee Social gathering – Gill York – lace making demonstration plus opportunity to have a go – £5 pp

November 2024

Sunday 10th November – Remembrance Day – Meet at 10:50am in readiness for two minute silence at 11am. Residents to meet at the silent soldier top of the Rat Hole.

Christmas Cake Decorating/Sugar Craft – 10 people maximum at £3.00 per person per session.
Places are limited 8 people – please contact Cate Hunt to book your place.
Friday 22nd Nov – to marzipan cake – 10am to 12pm
Friday 29th Nov – to ice cake – 10am to 12pm

December 2024

Christmas Cake Decorating/Sugar Craft – continues
Friday 6st Dec. – to make cake decorations – 10am to 12pm
Friday 13th Dec. – to decorate cake – 10am to 12pm
Friday 20th Dec. – if required to complete decorating – 10am to 12pm

Wednesday 11th December 10am to 12pm – Tea and Coffee Social – Julie Dukes flower arranging – make your own Christmas table decoration. £5pp

Please note – for those people who would like to make a Christmas table decoration you will need to bring the following;
• A dish or similar suitable to hold a table decoration
• A piece of pre soaked piece of Oasis to fill the dish
• A mix of evergreen foliage as a base – such as holly or ivy
• Flowers of your choice
• 2 Black garden waste bags
• Secateurs or Flower Scissors

Wednesday 11th December 7pm – Local History Group –  subject yet to be agreed

Monday 16th December 6 for 6:30pm – Christmas Carol Service – to be held in the barn at Broomhill Grange NG21 9HG hosted by Jane and Robert Bealby. Cost £5 per person with mulled wine and mince pie. Under 16 years old free and all profits to go to local charities
